The 28th annual Day of Caring was another tremendous year for United Way and Washington County! Nearly 2000 (1,804) volunteers pitched in to complete 146 projects throughout the county. We had 46 nonprofit agencies and 69 homeowners that both recieved assistance and benefitted from the volunteer workforce! Roughly 500 individuals attended the kick-off breakfast at Hagerstown Community College. A procalmation was read stating that going forward, the third Thursday of September will officially be known as Washington County's Day of Caring! One lucky winner, Greg MacMaster, a Potomac Edison volunteer team-member receievd the $500 door prize, donated by God's Grace Fund! As the day came to a close, over $300,000 worth of service was invested back into our community!
