HAGERSTOWN, MD (June 8, 2020) — The United Way of Washington County is pleased to announce Jocelyn Hauer as its new Director of Community Impact and Investment. “We are thrilled that Jocelyn has joined our team here at United Way. Jocelyn’s experience and expertise align perfectly with our strategic mission and objectives. She has a wide range of experience from being involved and engaged in our community.” - Heather Guessford, UWWC President & CEO. Hauer will begin in this role on Wednesday, June 24th. Hauer, a Washington County resident, currently serves as a volunteer through the United Way Community Impact & Investment Committee.
Hauer holds a Master of Business Administration from Purdue University Global and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Shippensburg University. Hauer has an extensive background in financial services, project management, higher education, and human resources. Hauer’s commitment to the community speaks for itself. She is no stranger to volunteerism and has volunteered her time by serving on various nonprofit boards and through many different organizations within the community.
“We have an extremely small but mighty staff here at United Way. The Director of Community Impact and Investment is a critical part of our team. Jocelyn will be a tremendous asset to both United Way and our community as we continue to engage, convene and mobilize resources to address root causes of Washington County needs.” – Guessford. Hauer will primarily be responsible for working with agency partners, volunteers, and community stakeholders to manage United Way’s community investments and further the Community Impact business model.
“My professional experience as both a finance and student support advisor has provided an outlet for my passion to be an advocate for those in my care and help them achieve their goals. I believe this lends itself to my upcoming role building agency relationships and community partnerships. Taking part in activities that provide a real, tangible impact to people in the community is such a joy. What an amazing blessing it is that I get to work for an organization whose mission is giving, advocating, and volunteering.” – Hauer.
Jocelyn and her Husband are Pennsylvania natives who spend their spare time with their two dogs, biking, and kayaking.
