Here at United Way, we rely so much on the support from our community and volunteers. We're excited to introduce to you, some of our very special United Way Leaders. These individuals are our behind the scenes dream team -- more than we could ever hope to do with staff alone. They also serve in many different capacities and are often our “boots on the ground”, much of their time is spent assisting staff with fundraising and campaign efforts, volunteering as the chair for various committees, volunteering for events, outreach and beyond. We appreaciate these special people for all they do not just for us here at United Way, but for a better Washington County.

ERIN CLARK - treasurer
“I believe in UW’s mission. I believe in the community impact model of grant funding. I believe that my financial contribution and time spent investing in the United Way are helping my local community in the best/most needed way. There are so many wonderful local non-profits that serve so many needed roles in our community. However, there are some redundancies and the new grant model works to push non-profits to collaborate more. This helps to ensure that every dollar from every donor is being allocated in a way that will “do the most good” in Washington County.” – Erin Clark
Allow us to introduce you to Erin Clark! Erin is a CPA and works as an Audit Manager for Smith Elliott Kearns & Company, LLC, a regional accounting firm that provides a variety of tax, assurance, bookkeeping/payroll and consulting services to the quad state area of MD, PA, VA, and WV. Erin oversees audits and other assurance engagements for clients across a variety of industries, including non-profits, healthcare entities, financial institutions, and local governments. Erin loves that her career enables her to assist clients with things like preparing financial statements, providing suggestions to improve internal controls, and just being a trusted advisor in the realm of finance and accounting.
Erin is a current member of our board and member of the finance committee. She began volunteering with United way in 2015 after one of the SEK & Co’s partners (Tim Peters) introduced her to United Way and explained how the community impact model tied into financial literacy. Erin credits SEK & Co’s dedication and commitment to the community as her introduction to United Way. Thank you Erin, for all that you have done and continue to do for United Way and our community!
