What a Day!
United Way’s Annual Day of Caring mobilizes hundreds of volunteers to perform a variety of service projects at non-profits throughout Washington County. In 2009, 700 volunteers completed projects at 60 sites reaching as far south as Gapland and far west as Hancock. Tasks included painting, yard work, cleaning, deliveries, sorting food and planting a memorial garden. Repairs and maintenance were also done at 18 elderly and disabled residents’ homes. IT’S AMAZING TO SEE HOW MUCH IS ACCOMPLISHED DURING THIS ONE-DAY EVENT!
This special day grows tremendously each year.
