Annual Report to the Community

HAGERSTOWN, MD (June 6, 2017)—United Way of Washington County will host its Campaign Finale and Annual Meeting on Wednesday, June 21 at Fountain Head Country Club. The Michael G. Callas Trust, BB&T, Coldwell Banker Innovations, First United Bank & Trust and Keller Stonebraker Insurance are sponsoring the evening’s event. United Way will provide its annual report to the community, sharing how investments were made in Washington County’s programs that support education, financial stability, health and basic needs. In addition, volunteer and campaign awards will be announced. One company will receive the highest campaign award that is named in tribute to Michael G. Callas, a long-time supporter of United Way. Individuals will also be recognized for their service including one who will receive the Robert T. Barnhart Day of Caring Award for Service award. Cassandra Latimer, Chair, United Way Board of Directors and Michael Johnston, Campaign Chair will help present the community report and awards.
 
Retiring Board of Directors Tim Peters, Smith Elliott Kearns & Company, LLC, Stephanie Stone, Washington County, Cindy Brown, Otterbein United Methodist Church and youth representative Erica Greenwald, North Hagerstown High School will be recognized for their service as they complete their board terms on June 30. 
 
Election of New Directors  The following individuals have been nominated to serve on the Board of Directors:
Christina Chen, a Senior at North Hagerstown High School, she is the current Chair of the Youth United club, a member of the National Honor Society, Student Government Association, and Key Club.
Erin Clark, an Audit Supervisor with Smith Elliott Kearns & Co, LLC, she serves on the United Way of Washington County Finance Committee. 
James Malfregeot II, Market President with BB&T, is active with the United Way of Washington County Day of Caring.
