Community Impact Grant Awards

 

Please join us as we officially announce the Fiscal Year 2020 Grantee Recipients. A light continental breakfast will be served. This is a free community event and open to the public. We encourage all to attend, especially nonprofit agencies and collaborations who are not currently funded. United Way will announce the current funded collaborations and define the community needs and goals that steer the grant funding results. We will provide an explanation of the Community Impact model and information regarding the upcoming Fiscal Year 2021 Community Impact grant application process.

United Way of Washington County, Maryland has extended funding offers totaling $367,830 to thirteen separate collaborations comprised of sixteen local, high performing Washington County nonprofits. The funded collaborations provide programs and services aligned with United Way’s four strategic focus areas of Education, Financial Stability, Health and Basic Needs.

Community Impact grants are how United Way of Washington County invests local dollars in Washington County to address specific community-centered issues. Funding decisions are made through a competitive application process. The entire process is led by community volunteers. The intent of Community Impact grants is to identify and respond to local priority needs, as determined by multiple community needs assessments. Grant Recipients help to improve community conditions across the entire Washington County area.

United Way encourages all local health and human service agencies who are a 501(c)(3) and who feature programs developed in collaboration with other organizations, to apply for Community Impact Grants during the open application period. This period will begin October 2019 for the upcoming FY21. A lead agency must be identified that would be responsible for submitting collaborative financial and program reports and be responsible for the program.
