Day of caring is a 28 year tradition in Washington County, Md. Day of Caring brings together hundreds of non-profit agencies and schools with thousands of volunteers all on one day to improve our community! United Way of Washington County, Md's day of caring is the single largest community service effort.

Join us for the Kickoff Event!
This year’s event will be held at the ARCC on the campus of Hagerstown Community College. Doors open at 7 a.m. for breakfast and networking. Kick-off will begin at 7:30 a.m.
There is no cost to attend, but we ask that you register so we have enough breakfast for everyone to enjoy! Please register no later than noon on September 15, 2019.

Community Book Drive
The Community Book Drive is a collection of new and gently used books appropriate for infants and children ages 0-11. The collection is a partnership with United Way, Hagerstown Rotary Club, Hagerstown Area Religious Council, FedEx, and Early Childhood Advisory Council.
Personal Care Drive
The Personal Care Drive is a collection of new personal hygiene items such as shampoo and toothbrushes. This collection is a partnership with United Way and Community Action Council of Washington County.
Community Health Fair
The Health Fair will take place at Family Healthcare of Hagerstown from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. on the Day of Caring. The Health Fair includes free health screenings, health education, cooking demos, face painting, family games, food, and more!
Day of Caring for Washington County, MD provides a variety of services that help individuals with home safety and minor repairs and works with agencies on projects that include painting, gardening and more. This year we are offering special consideration for military veteran projects. Please make sure to indicate if you are a military veteran and submit your project application by June 19, 2019. All other project applications are due by July 19th, 2019.
